Volleyball Coaches Notes

The freshmen volleyball team is off to a great season. They are undefeated in pre-season play and will play their first district game tomorrow. They won 1st place at both the Falfurrias volleyball tournament and The Orange Grove volleyball tournament. A big congratulations goes out to Regan Gonzalez and to Kasey Cavazos for being awarded the all tourney trophies in Falfurrias. Kasey also received the all tourney in Orange Grove. Amanda Solis and Laura Castillo did a great job serving this weekend, Ari Alvarez, Taylor Roy, Kasey Cavazos and Regan Gonzalez all had many kills. These kills would not be possible without the great sets from Laura Castillo and Tori Geryk and the awesome digs from Kylie Wolf and Victoria Gonzalez. I don't want to leave out Laura Hernandez who was doing a great job as well, but due to an unfortunate accident, she will be out for the rest of the season. I am very proud of the all these girls. They each do what it takes to play as a team and that is why they have been so successful.

Bishop VS Banquete

9/12 Someone better call the dog catcher because the Lady Badgers were in Banquete last night! The Lady Bulldogs proved to be all bark and no bite as the Lady Badgers came home victorious. The Freshmen team played an exceptional game by winning easily and quickly in 2 games. The Freshmen continue to remain undefeated this season. The JV team is impressively improving their volleyball skills. They took the victory in 3 games, which brings their district record to 2-0.
The Lady Badger Varsity took the district win last night in an exciting 5 game match. It was head to head as the Lady Bulldogs won the the 1st and 3rd games of the match. The Lady Badgers fought their way into the 5th game and finished with a score of 15-10. All players contributed to the win with some impressive stats. As a team, there were 19 kills, 16 aces, 5 blocks, many digs and many, many assists. This brings their district record to 1-1. Good Job to all the girls!
